Ken Walker started KWBC (KW Business Consultants) in 2001. Prior to forming the Consultancy he has had 23 years experience in general and financial management, having held Senior Management posts with NatWest Bank, has managed a Housing Association with charitable status and held the post of UK Managing Director for an international commercial property development company.
As a Business Consultant, he has since been engaged by Directors and Owner managers covering a broad spectrum of industry sectors, including the health care, medical, property, manufacturing and retail sectors for large and small organisations. He also continues to specialise in the Charity Sector.
Adrian Connock has 27 years experience as a business consultant and in various roles for business finance institutions.
He has held senior management positions and successfully undertaken diverse challenges in Nat West, General Electric and HBOS. Disciplines covered include management accounting, lending, company acquisition, insolvency, staff management, quality, sales development and client relations.
Adrian spent 7 years in the Credit Departments of financial institutions, so he knows how to present a business finance case and can instantly recognise commercial risks and opportunities.
He is a qualified member of the Institute of Financial Services. Adrian has completed a large number of successful strategic reviews, business plan and fund raising exercises for our clients. He has been retained by a good number of these to provide ongoing business advice to boards and business owners.
Mike Garner
Mike has over 25 years' business operations experience, predominantly at a senior level, across a range of businesses and industries. Most recently he was Operations Director for a £15m manufacturing company, and has previously been a general manager with a national service and retail business.
He has worked for blue chip companies such as Rexam and Rolls Royce, as well as private companies manufacturing products as diverse as sonar equipment, electric motors and double glazing.
Mike has a substantial track record of achievement in strategic and organisational development, especially in relation to operational efficiency and people development in SMEs. Experienced in setting strategy and leading the change process, a key to his success has been the appropriate nature of his approach to suit the values of the individual business.
Mike's extensive management and leadership experience is complemented by his industry qualifications. Trained as a professional engineer, in 1986 he achieved the Fellowship in Manufacturing Management from Cranfield Institute of Technology.
Rachael Mackenzie , MA, Chartered FCIPD
Rachael is our Human Resources consultant and also runs and manages her own successful consultancy practice. She has 12 years experience in HR and has worked within the food distribution, telecoms, manufacturing, publishing, financial services and health sectors. Rachael has considerable experience within multi-site organisations and has also provided HR support to organisations ranging from ten to thousands of employees. Rachael has extensive employment law knowledge and current projects include business restructurings and undertaking HR audits including the development of employee handbooks and reviewing terms and conditions of employment and policies and procedures to ensure that they comply with legal requirements and best practice.
She has a masters degree (MA) in Personnel Management, is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and has a postgraduate diploma in Personnel Management.
David Silvera
Dave has many years of experience in information technology and owns a successful, long established web design company.
He is our business consultant in all internet related and web marketing matters and has an excellent track record in this specialist field.
His enthusiastic approach is based around de-mystifying information technology and getting results for our clients.
Helen Walker
Following a successful career in Business Banking, Helen joined Ken in their growing consultancy business in 2003. Having operated as a risk analyst, underwriter and business banking manager, Helen has a broad knowledge of the finance industry and the skills to present a compelling business plan.
Within KWBC, Helen has developed and now runs a bespoke payroll service offering a flexible choice of software and data provision and where clients can select the level of payroll support required from an extensive menu. Advice is provided on all payroll issues to clients and their employees.
Sandy Connock
A highly experienced and professionally qualified training consultant. 20 years in major organisation developing and delivering training programmes for management and staff at all levels. Particular expertise in learning and development, management skills, continuous improvement programmes and Investors in People. FAETC and NVQ qualified.
